Home Care it Forward

IHHC has launched Home Care it Forward in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic in response to the critical need for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as well as other supports for home care agencies to better protect and serve their patients. The initiative started with a monetary donation from IHHC Allied member, Shawn Crawford, a National Account Executive from PointClickCare, who saw the need for PPE and raised $2,500 through a personal GoFundMe page to help offset the costs of PPE for IHHC members participating in a group purchase. Soon after, a donation of 1,000 face shields arrived from IHHC member, OSF Healthcare to distribute to IHHC agencies in need. OSF received a large donation from Ford Motor Company and paid the excess forward to IHHC members.

To keep the momentum going, IHHC has created a virtual platform that connects donors with home care agency recipients. The Home Care it Forward campaign will be accepting recipient requests from member agencies and donor submission forms until July 31, 2020. Agencies can apply for a donation by submitting a recipient form, while donors can submit a donor form to be matched with an agency.
